THE BEST OF THE BEST, WEEK ONE WAIVER WIRE PICKS

The best QB pick of the week is Michael Penix Jr. in week 1 he faced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he threw for 298 yards, and 1 touchdown. Penix also added 21 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown. That made him the number 10 quarterback on the week and since he is only rostered 20 percent, he is a prime candidate for the waiver wire pickup! If that was not enough to convince you then let’s look at his next week opponent the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings allowed Caleb Williams to pass for 210 yards, and 58 yards on the ground for 2 total touchdowns. I see no reason why Penix can’t improve on his week 1 showing and jump up the top 10 rankings!

The best WR pick of the week is Quentin Johnston who put up 79 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. Johnston was on the field for 82% of the offensive snaps and caught 5 of 7 passes thrown to him. Johnston and the Chargers travel to Las Vegas who just allowed Drake Maye to pass for 287 passing yards, and I see no reason that Justin Herbert can’t repeat his performance from week 1.

The best TE pick of the week is Juwan Johnson who was targeted 11 times and completed 8 of those passes for 76 yards. This impressive start translated to 15.6 fantasy points in PPR leagues and placed him at the #1 TE in the rankings for week 1. Johnson is only rostered in 1.3% of leagues and a super pickup for week 2.
