Fantasy Football Week 5 Waiver Wire

The week 5 waiver wire is getting interesting with rookie quarterbacks taking over!  We got to seek Jaxson Dart take the reins in NY and finish as the number 11 quarterback on the week.  Dart did not have overly impressive stats, but the results were 18.34 fantasy points with 111 passing yards, 54 rushing yards and 2 total touchdowns.  The quarterback field is riddled with injuries and now bye weeks start Dart is only rostered in 21% of leagues and could be a great flier for the week.

We have a few options on the week at running back Justice Hill, Kenneth Gainwell and Woody Marks are all great options if you’re in need of a running back.  Justice Hill is coming off a tremendous week, but he is not a guy that you can depend on every week.  This week he posted 76 rushing yards, 41 receiving yards on 5 receptions for 33.7 fantasy points.  In ESPN leagues he is only rostered in 12.4% of leagues, while this number will surely jump up this week, I would use with caution.  This is a guy you can stash on your roster and see what happens I would not put him right in the starting lineup.  Kenneth Gainwell also posted a killer week with 31.4 fantasy points.  Gainwell had 99 rushing yards, and 35 receiving yards on 6 receptions with 2 touchdowns. This opportunity was due to Jaylen Warren sitting out for the game with an injury. Gainwell is rostered in 35.6% of ESPN leagues, and depending on the extent of Warren’s injury could be a safe addition.  Finally, we have Woody Marks the biggest question mark of the week.  Marks sits behind Nick Chubb on the depth chart but has the best opportunity to break out due to Chubb’s lack luster performance so far.  Marks posted 69 rushing yards, 50 receiving yards on 4 receptions and 2 touchdowns for 27.9 fantasy points, and still only rostered 33.4% in ESPN leagues.

Now on to the wide receiver room, where we find Romeo Doubs fresh off a big game and still only rostered in 36.7% of ESPN leagues.  Doubs posted 58 receiving yards on 6 receptions, with 3 touchdowns.  While Doubs has been up and down in the 4 games so far this season Jordan Love tends to spread the ball around so if you’re in a pinch he could be a perfect add at wide receiver.

Finally, we have our tight end add of the week with Darren Waller, coming off his first game in 2 years, and it was a good one.  Waller put up 17.7 fantasy points on 3 receptions for 27 yards and 2 touchdowns.  We saw this kind of production from Jonnu Smith in Miami last year and it’s a great sign for Waller moving forward.  He is only rostered in 9.9% of ESPN leagues and that number will take a big jump come tomorrow morning!
