WIDE RECEIVER DYNASTY FANTASY FOOTBALL STASHES FOR 2025

The wide receiver position has become more important with the popularity of the PPR game dominance in the fantasy football world.  As I always stress the importance of a balanced team, I also know that in a single quarterback, PPR format the wide receiver is the best bet with your first pick.  With this in mind being able to stash a free wide receiver off the waiver wire before the season starts is better than money in the bank.

The first stash is a duo from the Miami Dolphins including TahJ Washington, and Malik Washington.  With the 241st pick in the 2024 NFL draft the Miami Dolphins selected Tahj Washington out of USC.  In his final season with the Trojans, he racked up 1062 yards and then spent his rookie season with the Dolphins on the IR.  In that same draft Miami selected Malik Washington in the 6th round with the 184th pick out of the University of Virginia.  Malik played the season as the WR3 behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle and was still able to grab 26 receptions on 36 targets for 223 yards.  As the number 3 wide receiver and accounting for shaky quarterback play while the team was without Tua Tagovailoa, Malik did not finish too bad. Then when we consider Hill stating that he wants out of Miami that would leave an opportunity for Tahj or Malik to emerge in a powerful passing offense.

The next stash is Darius Slayton from the New York Giants, slated to be a free agent in 2025.  This is another situation of a WR3, who might get his shot in 2025 depending on where he lands.  In 2024 Slayton had 39 receptions on 71 targets for a total of 573 yards even though he was buried on the depth chart behind rookie phenom Malik Nabers, and Wan’Dale Robinson.  We should also consider the quarterback play in NY this season, starting with Daniel Jones, then Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock.  None of the quarterbacks played extremely well, yet somehow this trio of wide receivers put up respectable numbers for fantasy purposes.  If Slayton lands in a good situation, he could be a solid WR2 on any fantasy team.

The third and final stash in the wide receiver room is Xavier Gipson from the New York Jets. Everyone had big expectations from the Jets in the 2024 season with future hall of famer Aaron Rodgers leading the team.  Well, we all know how that worked out and Gipson fell victim to the poor quarterback play.  He went from a promising rookie season in 2023 with 229 yards on the season to a meager 39 total yards in 2024.  Rodgers finished the season with a few good games, and a total of 3897 passing yards to make him the number 15 quarterback on the season.  With that in mind you would think you would have a few good fantasy wide receivers on the team.  The bulk of the receiving yards went to Garrett Wilson, Davante Adams and Allen Lazard.  There has been a completely new regime installed in NY so no one knows who will be left in the receiver room at the beginning of the 2025 season.  While this is a long shot, he is undoubtably available on your waiver wire and could be worth a stash.
