How Good Can Justin Fields & Garrett Wilson Be In 2025?

On 3/10/25 Justin Fields entered free agency and quickly got snatched up by the New York Jets. The deal the Jets gave Fields is a two year and 40-million-dollar contract to hook back up with his college teammate Garret Wilson. This is the deal is not only good for the Jets, but also the best-case scenario for all the players involved and the new coaching staff. Fields is a mobile quarterback with a great arm and with all the offensive weapons on the Jets it is a match made in heaven.
In 2019 Justin Fields transferred from the University of Georgia to Ohio State because he was stuck behind Jake Fromm on the depth chart and was in search of a starting job. This move turned out to be the best move for Fields his stats at Ohio State were great, he led the Big Ten in passing yards, touchdowns and passing efficiency. Not only did he put up great stats, but he also finished third in the Heisman voting and went on to be drafted by the Chicago Bears with the 11th pick in the draft.
Garrett Wilson entered Ohio State as a freshman in 2019 and played two years with Fields as his quarterback. During that time, he played 22 games and racked up 73 receptions for a total of 1,155 yards and 11 touchdowns. Wilson went on to play one more year at Ohio State before he was drafted in 2022 by the Jets with the 10th pick in the draft.
Once the duo made it to the NFL they enjoyed varied success. Fields played 3 seasons in Chicago with his final 2023 season being his best with 2,560 passing yards and 16 touchdowns. Last season he played he played in 10 games for the Steelers with 1,106 passing yards, 298 rushing yards and 10 total touchdowns. Then he was benched for Russel Wilson in the second half of the season. Garrett Wilson on the other hand has had 6 different quarterbacks throwing him the ball with, and even with all that change he has still never had less that 1,103 yards in a season. That is impressive, now just imagine how good he will be once he gets back together with Fields for this season. I think that both players will have the best seasons of their careers in 2025!
