KELLEN MOORE – NEW ORLEANS SAINTS HEAD COACH – BREAKING NEWS
While Kellen Moore was locked in dialing up plays for the Eagles in the Playoffs, the New Orleans Saints were busy dialing up their own plans for the future of the franchise. Members of the Saints management flew out to Philadelphia to meet with Moore following the Eagles victory over the Washington Commanders. Apparently, they liked what Moore had to say, because the head coaching job is still vacant, as the Saints tip toe around the league tampering rules.
The Saints began the search for a new head coach by interviewing Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, and New York Giants assistant offensive coordinator Mike Kafka. They also interviewed Aaron Glenn Lions Defensive coordinator before he decided to take the head coach position with the New York Jets. Then Kliff Kingsbury the Washington Commanders offensive coordinator also interviewed for the position. After all this the Saints head coaching position remained vacant, and the rumors began to swirl that Moore was leading the race for the head coaching position.

Who is Kellen Moore? He played quarterback for Boise State University, where he set school records for passing yards and touchdown passes. He entered the NFL draft in 2012, but unfortunately, he was not selected by any NFL teams. However, that was not the end of his quarterback journey, immediately following the draft Moore was signed by the Detroit Lions. He remained in Detroit until he was signed as a backup QB in 2015 for the Dallas Cowboys. His NFL stat line is pretty thin, only seeing game action in 3 games for the Cowboys, and totaled 779 passing yards with 4 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
That seemed to be just the beginning of his NFL story, in 2019 the Dallas Cowboys hired Moore as the Offensive Coordinator where he remained until 2022. From Dallas he went on to be the offensive coordinator in Los Angeles for the Chargers for one year. Then in 2024 Moore signed on with the Philadelphia Eagles as the offensive coordinator, for their trip to the Super Bowl.
It did not take long following the Super Bowl for the Saints to finalize the deal making Kellen Moore the new head coach. On 2/11/25, two days after the Eagles won the Super Bowl, Kellen Moore agreed to a deal to become the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints, according to NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo.
