Can this year’s class of free agent wide receivers make a difference for your fantasy football team?  While the top free agents in the 2024 season were highlighted by running backs and quarterbacks.  This year there are some big names that will be available at the wide receiver position.  Free agency begins on March 12, so let’s look and see who will be ready to switch teams for the 2025 season.

Now that we have seen who is available on the free agent market, what does this mean for your fantasy team.  Most of these guys are older veterans hovering around the age of 30 years old, probably past their prime.  Not to say that these players could not be valuable to your fantasy lineup or any NFL team for that matter.  It is just a matter of when you would be able to draft these guys, at this point I would assume that anyone on this list would be available in the later rounds of your draft as a WR3.

Most of these wide receivers will be switching teams, I only see three that could stay put where they are.  Keenan Allen was the WR2 in Chicago this season, putting up a respectable 744 yards with some shaky quarterback play from his rookie signal caller.  Chris Godwin was off to a great start before he got injured in week 7, at the pace he was on he would have been the WR1 in Tampa Bay without question.  Olamide Zaccheaus finished the regular season with a few good games, but then did not do much in the playoffs only posting 45 yards in the three playoff games.  The other wide receivers on this list will most likely be on the move to a new team with new break out hopes and dreams.

Top dynasty league targets would be Elijah Moore, at 24 years of age he has lots of football ahead of him.  If you look at last year’s stats when he had Joe Flacco throwing the ball he had a great year with 1183 yards.  Depending on where he lands, he could be primed for a bounce back year in 2025, and you could probably acquire him in a trade without giving up too much in return coming off this year’s stats.  As far as your redraft league, again depending on where he lands his ADP may be creeping up your draft board if he lands with a good quarterback for next season.  Tee Higgins and Chris Godwin are obvious adds in any league but considering their history they may not be readily available in your dynasty league.  However, both have had some injury issues so you might be able to acquire them for the right price.

Finally, we have the trio of veterans including Stefon Diggs, Amari Cooper and DeAndre Hopkins.  These guys were all big-name stars at one point in their careers, but father time has caught up to all three of these guys.  The best bet out of these three wide receivers is Diggs, considering he only played 8 games in the 2024 season, he could be primed for a bounce back year.  Cooper and Hopkins on the other hand, both had opportunity with their new teams but were sporadic in their production.  It’s hard to see these guys staying put, but only time will tell.
